SPOOLER Spooler is a motorised system to coil/uncoil cable reels, essential in operations such as coiling from a drum to another, cable laying, cable salvaging to make repositioning or repair. All our Spoolers are designed to suite a wide range of reels sizes and width. Our spoolers have a capability from 10 Tons up to 440 Tons.
EQUIPMENT
BASKET & TURN TABLE In some cases, cable characteristics, dimensions and length require cable coiling on basket or turn-table tank, to avoid damages to the cable itself and to facilitate laying operations. P.C.S. design and manufacture according to the cable technical requirements baskets and turn-table tanks with different capability and mechanism, to suit all cables specifications.
TENSIONER The TENSIONER (L.M.) has the essential purpose to mantain the correct residual tension on the cable, working as brake during cable laying or as pulling winch while loading the cable on board. The 2 vertically opposed crawlers allow the cable to pass mantaining on it the required amount of grip pressure
HYDRAULIC UNIT Hydraulic units are essential to generate power for all laying equipment. P.C.S. has availability of different motorization, according to the power needed by a specific outfit to be used. The remote control allows a better and safer operations for the equipment.
POWER GENERATOR The main p.c.s.equipment is feed by hydraulic unit, but for any need we have availability of power generator able to produce 6 to 250kw.
CHUTE / STINGER The stinger is the essential mean to facilitate the cable lay from the deck and grant the correct angle exit, according to the minimum bending radius imposed by cable/umbilical manufacturer.
REMOTE CONTROL ROOM This consolle allows remote operating and control of the laying equipment. it can be set in “automatic” operation or in “manual”. the system is completed by a tv circuit which allows a constant check of the operations and a full record of all necessary parameters such as: cable pulling tension, exit angle of cable from the stinger, length of cable laid, bathymetry, gps position. the control consolle is operated by a last generation portable pc with digital card i/o and color printer.
TEST & CHECK P.C.S. has available intruments for cable/umbilical test and check as: Rigidimeters (from 24 kV to 110 kV) Meggers Teleflex O.T.D.R. Ohmmeters H.L.U. to be used before, during and after laying operation.
PULL-IN The pull-in equipment is comprising hydraulic tirfors up to 5t capacity and motorized tirofs upto 3200kg capacity, electro-hydraulic unit to be connected to the tirfors and is completed by dinamometers up to 50kn to check continuously the pulling force applied to the cable during the pull-in operations. furthermore our pull-in equipment comprises power generators 3-6kw baskets to transfer the equipment to platforms and miscellaneous as specific clamps and iron cables to install the equipment on platform.
INCAVATRICE I n the aim of optimize resources and reduce timing executing the works, P.C.S. engineered and developed the “Incavatrice” a system to bury cable/umbilical simoultaneously or immediately after laying. The past experiences driven to manufacture different incavatrice models, each implemented according to different sea-bottoms consistence gaining a range suitable for ground hardness up to 150kPa, and actually is on an engineering phase an Incavatrice able to operate on sea-bottom with 500kPa hardness. Each “Incavatrice” is normally made according to the Minimum Bending Radius (MBR) and size of cable, umbilical or flowline to be buried. Any technical characteristic it has, the Incavatrice system is the most suitable to preserve sea-bottom, reducing has much as possible environmental changes and pollution. Anti pollution cautions Our “incavatrice” equipment does not modify the ground characteristics and does not pollute the surrounding waters; without affecting the environment along the route.
